Fair Trade Scarves »
At the By Hand Fair Trade Shop, we source our Fair Trade Scarves from two different Indonesian islands: Our Batik Silk Scarves are lovingly made by hand by a women's cooperative in the town of Yogyakarta on the island of Java. The project is helping to promote traditional Batik methods, whilst also providing the women with a livelihood in an area destroyed by an earthquake that struck back in 2006. Meanwhile, our Cotton Ikat Scarves are made by marginalised producers in Bali and feature traditional Balinese motifs. Each of the scarves is completely unique and one-of-a-kind.
